Greetings, everybody! The
Chief Judge
and Humble Assistant to Jan Meyer is finally on line and putting up the
scores. The number of teams this year isn't very high, but they certainly
are high in quality. It's early in the afternoon and after a short wind hold
we're back to jumping in round 4. Some quick notes:
- There are three top-notch teams battling in 4-way Open. They look
superb in the early going.
- France Maubeuge lost a lap on round 2 because of camera angle out the
door, otherwise they'd be in the lead now.
- My fellow judges are Mary Beth and (alternating in the 3rd judge
chair) Davide Moy and Marin Ferré, veterans of the world champion Maubeuge
teams of
1999 and
2003.
- I brought spare camera batteries, my camera card reader, my camera
cable, an extra camera memory card, but I forgot to bring my camera. So I
give you photos by Davide:

Updating scores and getting ready to judge round 7...okay it looks like
Black Ice and Down 5 went down to the wire last night, with Black Ice
winning the tie-breaker (highest individual round)...that event closed at 6
rounds while the Open teams will go 10 today, weather permitting (and it
should permit)...
...an hour later, round 7 is in the can, and France Maubeuge had a really
good jump but they have lost 5 points due to video angle (4 on round 2 and 1
on round 7)...

All done. Airspeed got sharper as the meet went on and finished up with
a 10-point victory. Great show! See you at the nationals! Tim |
